Viral videos of foreign backpackers jostling in crowded Indian local trains, is a common sight on social media. Breaking the online clutter, a Canadian man recently urged foreign tourists visiting India to shell out $15 (₹1358 approx) for a sleeper bus ticket. What impressed him the most was his comfortable 12-hour overnight journey where he was pampered with snacks, water, a blanket and a cosy bed during an overnight bus journey. In his viral reel, he even claimed that European buses haven’t treated him as well as the Indian sleeper bus.
Canadian Man Raves About Indian Sleeper Bus

Taking to his Instagram handle(side_quest_project), Justin, a Canadian traveller, posted a reel about India’s sleeper buses. The man travelled on Kolkata Express Line with his buddies which was a 12-hour journey. What he was most impressed about was that his $15 bus ticket got him a “whole bed, baked goods, water bottle, blanket, and even a curtain to separate him from his co-passenger.” In fact the Canadian man was so impressed that he even compared the Indian sleeper bus to European buses.
In his words, European buses have got nothing against Indian sleeper buses. As he showed off the amenities in his reel, he called it “pretty sick.” In a small cardboard box, he got packets of biscuits and snacks. After he made himself comfortable, Justin said that the best part about travelling in sleeper buses is that one gets to wake up in a whole different city. The Canadian traveller even said that European buses haven’t treated him as well as this Indian one.

Through his experience, he urged foreign tourists like himself, to pay $15 and travel in sleeper bus. After all, his journey was comfortable and he woke up relaxed and energised for the next day. What impressed people about the viral reel, was that a foreign traveller had a good budget to explore and travel across India comfortably. A commenter wrote, “Finally a traveller with good budget.” Another echoed, “Bro got budget to travel in India…” Others joked if his IndiGo flight got cancelled and he was left with no choice but to take a bus.
