And it looks like amusement parks in India are stepping up their game, with Wonderla leading the charge. The new Wonderla Chennai makes sure it stands apart by blending Tamil Nadu’s timeless temple aesthetics with high-thrill adventures. Keep reading for more details.

Wonderla Comes To Chennai With Temple-Inspired Design

Wonderla Holidays is all set to inaugurate Wonderla Chennai, which is nestled along Chennai’s Old Mahabalipuram Road. This park spans 64.30 acres, with 37 acres currently developed. Built with an investment of ₹611 crore, the park aims to redefine family entertainment in Tamil Nadu. The good news is that to enjoy this amusement park, people will not have to wait for long. It will be inaugurated on December 1, 2025, by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and will open to the public on December 2, 2025.

India’s Tallest Spinning Ride

Another exciting news for thrill lovers! This new amusement park has India’s tallest spinning thrill ride, standing at 50 metres. It has multi-axis spinning, loops, and powerful G-forces that promise a thrilling experience. At this park, you can also enjoy Tanjora, India’s first and largest B&M inverted coaster, and Sky Rail, a 540-metre elevated monorail. From the monorail, you can enjoy panoramic views of the park.

The park houses eight themed restaurants with 1,384 seats, serving regional favourites like Dindigul biryani, Chettinad flavours, and Chennai-style seafood. Guests can choose from buffets, live counters, and quick-service kiosks. 

Once you get tired of all the thrilling rides, you can check out Tamil cinema-inspired merchandise and locally crafted Thanjavur and Marapachi dolls here. This space has additional amenities, including large changing rooms, first-aid stations, baby care spaces, accessible pathways, and a 1,500-seat conference hall with an 8,500 sq ft outdoor event area. The tickets for this amusement park start with ₹1,489. They also offer an additional 10% discount on online bookings and a 20% concession for college students with a valid ID.
