Bollywood has spent decades giving us characters who are far more than movie personalities; they’re travel archetypes. And if these characters ever got hold of your itinerary, they’d probably throw your carefully researched spreadsheet out the window. Here’s where these Bollywood characters would send you to vacation.

1. Geet Would Put You On A Train To Rishikesh

Geet’s relationship with travel isn’t about checking landmarks off a list. It’s about conversations with strangers, unexpected detours, and the belief that the best stories begin with things going wrong.

That’s why Rishikesh feels like her natural habitat! One minute you’re sipping ginger-lemon tea overlooking the Ganges, the next you’re bouncing through Grade III rapids on a white-water rafting expedition. The town has long attracted backpackers, spiritual seekers, yoga practitioners, and adrenaline junkies, creating an unusual mix of energy. Beatles fans still visit the abandoned ashram where the band stayed in 1968. 

Adventure enthusiasts head straight for India’s highest bungee jump at Mohan Chatti. Every evening, the riverfront glows during the Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat, where chants, lamps and drifting marigolds transform the river into a moving sea of light.

2. Bunny Would Book A One-Way Ticket To Queenstown

Before “digital nomad” became an Instagram bio, Bunny was already living the lifestyle. For him, a destination is only successful if it leaves him wanting another passport stamp.

Queenstown, tucked beside Lake Wakatipu and framed by New Zealand’s Southern Alps, is a playground for people who think ordinary vacations are overrated. This is where commercial bungee jumping was born! You can skydive from 15,000 feet, ride high-speed jet boats through narrow canyons, hike sections of the Routeburn Track, or take a helicopter to glaciers that look untouched by time.

The scenery often feels too unreal. Snow-capped mountains rise directly from turquoise lakes, while vineyards stretch across valleys. The nearby town of Glenorchy has appeared in films ranging from The Lord of the Rings trilogy to The Chronicles of Narnia.

Bunny wouldn’t spend much time indoors here. Frankly, neither should you.

3. Poo Would Take One Look At Your Budget And Suggest Dubai Anyway

Poo has never entered a room ordinarily, and naturally, her travel destination wouldn’t either.

Dubai doesn’t merely build attractions; it builds superlatives. The world’s tallest building, one of the world’s largest shopping malls and artificial islands are visible from space. Yet reducing Dubai to luxury would be missing half the story.

Beyond the skyline lies Al Fahidi Historical District, where narrow alleyways preserve the city’s pre-oil heritage. Traditional abras still ferry passengers across Dubai Creek, and the Gold Souk glitters with enough jewellery to make even Poo pause for a second. 

4. Rancho Would Wander Through Kyoto

Rancho never cared much about doing what everyone else was doing. While most tourists rush between attractions, he’d be the person spending forty minutes talking to a craftsman making handmade paper.

Japan’s imperial capital for over a thousand years, Kyoto contains more than 1,600 Buddhist temples and hundreds of Shinto shrines. At Fushimi Inari Taisha, thousands of vermilion torii gates wind through forested mountainsides. In Gion, one of Japan’s most famous geisha districts, wooden machiya houses still line the streets. During spring, cherry blossoms turn entire neighbourhoods pink, and during autumn, fiery maple leaves transform temple gardens into living paintings.

5. Veronica Would Convince You To Miss Your Flight Home From Ibiza

Mention the name Ibiza, and most people imagine world-famous DJs, sunrise parties and dance floors packed until morning. Veronica from Cocktail certainly wouldn’t object.

But Ibiza has a second personality that often gets overshadowed by its nightlife. Hidden coves are scattered around the coastline, while crystal-clear Mediterranean waters attract divers and sailors. 

One afternoon can involve lounging on Cala Comte’s beaches, while the evening ends watching the sun disappear from Café del Mar alongside hundreds of strangers applauding nature like it just finished a concert.

6. Jordan Would Lose Himself In Istanbul

Straddling Europe and Asia, the city has served as the capital of three empires; Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman. The skyline is punctuated by landmarks like Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. Ferries cross the Bosphorus while seagulls follow overhead, while the Grand Bazaar contains thousands of shops selling everything from Turkish lamps to handwoven carpets. 

Jordan would probably spend hours sitting beside the Bosphorus with a notebook, convinced every passing ferry contained a song.

Honestly, he’d have a point!

7. Aditi Would Head Straight To Goa

There are destinations you visit for monuments, but Goa is a destination you visit for memories! 

Aditi’s version of Goa would include rented scooters, spontaneous beach plans, seafood lunches that stretch into sunset, and arguments over where everyone is going for dinner.

The state’s Portuguese influence remains visible everywhere, from colourful homes in Fontainhas to churches like the Basilica of Bom Jesus. Food is equally magical, combining Indian spices with European techniques. Vindaloo, bebinca, prawn balchão and fresh kingfish feature prominently on local menus.

Much like Aditi herself, Goa somehow manages to be energetic and comforting at the same time.

8. Barfi Would Choose Cappadocia

Barfi never needed grand gestures to find joy, and that’s why Cappadocia would suit him perfectly.

Carved over millions of years by volcanic activity and erosion, the region’s famous “fairy chimneys” look more like props from a fantasy film. 

Then comes sunrise! Hundreds of hot-air balloons rise into the sky simultaneously, drifting above valleys coloured in shades of gold, pink and amber. It’s one of those rare travel experiences that lives up to every photograph you’ve ever seen.
