Google Maps is a go-to app for most people. But it can sometimes be unreliable, with many sharing their untoward experiences online. Now, Mappls by MapmyIndia is emerging as an Indian alternative. On Saturday, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw posted a video of himself using the app in his car. He wrote, “Swadeshi ‘Mappls’ by MapmyIndia. Good features…must try!”
The clip showed him trying out the app and explaining the features that set it apart from competitors. He said the app provides a three-dimensional junction view whenever there is a bridge ahead, making navigation easier for millions of users in India. Mappls also has technology to guide users across different floors in multi-storey buildings.
What Makes This Navigation App Stand Out?
Key Features of Mappls
These are some of the key features of Mappls that set it apart from other navigation applications:
- 3D junction views of junctions, bridges, and flyovers
- Precise doorstep navigation
- Safety alerts like speed breaker warnings
- Speed and traffic monitoring alerts
- NHAI toll savings calculator
- Live traffic intelligence
- It also offers complete data privacy and keeps your information strictly confidential
- It offers the weather and AQI of each place
- Multiple Indian languages for easy use
- Designed for Indian roads and driving conditions
The minister also mentioned that Mappls could be integrated with Indian Railways. He announced that an MoU between Indian Railways and Mappls will soon be signed. This means Mappls’ advanced technology could soon be used in railway systems as well.
This Made-in-India navigation app now has the government’s stamp of approval, making it a reliable option for Indian users. Being a swadeshi app, it also encourages the use of Indian applications instead of relying on foreign alternatives.
