After having travelled around 30 capital cities worldwide, a London-based digital creator never thought he would feel unsafe using his phone in one of the most developed cities in the UK. Sharing his experience on Instagram, he posted a video where he showed the difference between using a phone in London and Mumbai. Here’s what netizens have to say about this comparison.
Phone Snatching In Mumbai Vs London
We have seen many reels and safety hack videos on social media about how to keep yourself safe while travelling in foreign countries. Interestingly, a London-based digital creator mentioned in an Instagram post that Mumbai is actually safer than the UK capital, London, when it comes to phone snatching cases. London-based digital creator Onat Siahaan (@yuanathan) took to his Instagram handle to show the difference in the video.
In the reel, we can see him walking and using his phone freely on the footpaths of Mumbai’s streets. Then it shows how in London, he has to cover his phone with a jacket to use it in public. On the London streets, he kept checking if anyone was coming to snatch his phone. He posted the video with a caption where he mentioned that the London footage was shot in one of the city’s safest areas. After the filming, patrolling police officers came to him and asked him to be aware because of an increase in phone snatching cases. In the caption, he also wrote, “If we just sit on the grass with our phones visible in our hands, they’ll come and snatch them straight away.”
