Patna-Bettiah Expressway 15% Completed
As per a report by Swarajya Magazine, the 163.68 km-long expressway, being developed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), is expected to significantly cut travel time between Patna and Bettiah from the current 6 hours to roughly 2.5 hours once completed by 2027. Construction is currently in progress on the first two stretches, covering the route from Bakarpur in the Vaishali district to Manikpur in Muzaffarpur. Work on the remaining sections is ongoing, while the final package is done with the bidding stage and is moving rapidly towards land acquisition. The newly built expressway will start from Bakarpur and will connect Patna via the JP Setu, offering a more direct, easier, and efficient route. Additionally, a large area of around 145 km of the expressway will be developed as a greenfield corridor.

The CM also emphasised the need for timely completion and ordered the officials to maintain momentum while ensuring quality controls and safety standards at sites.
