There are celebrity-owned restaurants, celebrity-backed clubs and celebrity holiday homes. But Sanjay Dutt has gone a step further. The actor has officially entered the luxury hospitality business with The Evren, a boutique hotel in Vagator, Goa, developed in partnership with Anant Hospitality. And this isn’t the kind of property where you simply check in, order room service and leave. The idea is to create a place where your entire Goa itinerary can unfold without stepping outside the gates.
Sanjay Dutt Makes His Luxury Hospitality Debut In Goa
The Evren by Sanjay Dutt has already achieved something most new hotels spend years working towards. Before officially opening its doors, it became part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) collection, an invitation-only network of independently owned luxury properties known for exceptional design and personalised service. It’s a huge milestone for a first-time hospitality venture and instantly places the hotel on the radar of international luxury travellers.
The property doesn’t dwell on Goa’s usual beach shack aesthetic. Instead, it borrows from European boutique hotels while weaving in the state’s Indo-Portuguese magic. Handcrafted wooden ceilings, Gwalior stone detailing, arched walkways, wrought-iron balconies, leafy courtyards and tropical landscaping give the hotel an old-world warmth. Rather than hundreds of identical rooms spread across acres, The Evren keeps things intimate with boutique suites featuring private balconies, calming interiors and views of lush greenery. The common spaces are equally inviting.
There’s a swimming pool framed by landscaped gardens, wellness facilities and spa treatment rooms for guests looking to slow down, while Suenos de Cafe offers a calmer corner of the hotel. Curated by Geetu Mohnani, India’s first woman National Barista Champion, the café doubles as a speciality coffee destination and a comfortable co-working space where guests can settle in with a laptop or simply enjoy an expertly brewed cup.

Nines By The Evren Is Where Fine Dining Meets Goa Nightlife
The biggest talking point, however, is Nines by The Evren. During the day, it’s a destination restaurant led by Chef Prachi Mehta, whose career includes kitchens such as The Wolseley in London, Michelin-starred 108 in Copenhagen, Eleven Madison Park’s New York pop-up and Mumbai favourites under Hunger Inc. Her menu refuses to stick to one cuisine. A plate of Balchão Charred Broccoli arrives with coconut-feni cashew cream, while Kismur Grilled King Prawns sit alongside Chettinad Fried Chicken served with Goan Poee.
Signature drinks like the Ampana, Imli Drop, Cheeky Mosambi, IX Lives and Nines Espresso headline the bar menu, while live entertainment turns the venue into one of North Goa’s newest luxury nightlife addresses.
The project has been developed by Sanjay Dutt alongside Anant Hospitality and partners Harkaran Chawla, Angad Singh, Kunal Patel and Suved Lohia, the hospitality entrepreneur behind several well-known dining concepts.
For travellers who like their holidays with equal parts relaxation and late nights, that’s likely to be the biggest, most attractive draw.
