Uber Driver Gets Water And Kebabs For Australian Woman Stuck In Mumbai Traffic; She Calls Indian Drivers “Icons”

The community spirit in India, especially during trying times, is something worth acknowledging! Add to the mix a tourist in the country, and many a time, people are willing to go above and beyond to ensure their comfort. Recently, Australian podcaster and influencer Bree Steele praised Uber drivers in India on her Instagram handle. She encountered drivers in Mumbai who went above and beyond in navigating peak traffic and flood situations in the city with kindness for their passengers.

Australian Woman Praises Uber Drivers In India

Award-winning podcast presenter and producer, Bree Steele, shared a heartwarming story on Instagram. In her reel, she declared, “Uber drivers in India are next-level icons.” She narrated an incident that happened last night in Mumbai. Owing to Chhath Puja, a drive that ideally takes just 15 minutes, took her 2 hours due to the festive traffic. Stuck in one spot for 30 minutes, she was exasperated. That’s when her Uber driver got out of the car and returned with water bottles.

Bree said her driver didn’t let them pay for the water. An hour later, he again pulled over and left, saying, “I’ll be right back”. This time, he got his weary passengers kebabs and cold drinks. “Why do all my best stories in India involve an Uber driver?” she asked. Earlier, Bree had posted a video thanking her Uber driver for navigating floods in Mumbai to drop her off at the airport on time. Another driver picked up her shoe, which had fallen out of her auto rickshaw.
