SpiceJet Employee Suspended After Heated Argument
In the viral video on social media, the airline staff member was seen exchanging angry words with passengers while other travellers watched the confrontation unfold. The incident took place on June 13th, 2026 after a SpiceJet flight SG 151, scheduled to operate from Bagdogra to Delhi, was first delayed and later cancelled.
After the video, SpiceJet stated that the disruption was triggered by a mix of adverse weather conditions and operational challenges. According to the airline, the aircraft designated to execute the flight had been diverted to Kolkata because of bad weather in Bagdogra, leading to a delay in the scheduled departure. The flight was ultimately cancelled due to watch hour constraints at the airport.
The airline stated that the unexpected cancellation led to a verbal dispute between some upset passengers and members of its staff. The airline stated that while the weather conditions are beyond any airline’s control, they sincerely regret the inconvenience caused to the passengers. They also stated that the safety of the passengers, crew and operations remains their highest priority.

SpiceJet Takes Action Against The Employee
SpiceJet further added that it had taken the matter very seriously and decided to take disciplinary action against the staff member seen in the video. The employee has been suspended with immediate effect and sent for refresher training pending further review.
The viral video has led to widespread debate on social media. Many users complained about the employee’s behaviour towards passengers, while others called for a full investigation into the circumstances that led to the confrontation.
