China Travel Platform Offers Space Flight Trip Package

The flight will take off from Spaceport America in Las Cruces, New Mexico. According to Ctrip, Trip.com’s mainland China platform, the first four days of the itinerary are dedicated to preparation and training. The space flight is scheduled for the fifth day. The 5.1 million yuan price covers the space flight programme and related accommodation. Travellers will have to pay separately for return flights to the US, visas, insurance and other expenses.

Ctrip’s AI chatbot said two customers had already booked the package since the 2027 programme went on sale. Virgin Galactic has received 681 bookings worldwide, according to the platform. The package, described by Ctrip as a “sport for the elite”, has attracted considerable attention on Chinese social media. It is reportedly the most expensive publicly available space-tourism product currently offered in the Chinese market.
