Ahmedabad’s First Rotary Parking Facility Can Fit 12 Cars Where Only 2 Cars Could Park

As an Amdavadi, I totally agree that people in Ahmedabad often struggle with parking in crowded areas. But looks like the city is coming up with a smarter solution. Ahmedabad is now planning its first modern rotary parking facility at Ratanpol junction near Relief Road. Read on to know what it could change! 

Ahmedabad Is Planning Its First Rotary Parking Facility

The first rotary parking facility in the city is being built by the Central Zone Engineering Department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). The project is planned to increase parking capacity in the area. The parking facility will give traders, shoppers and visitors more space to park their vehicles without having to drive through different roads looking for a parking spot.

According to Desh Gujarat report, under this plan, the parking facility will use vertical space. At present, the space can accommodate only two cars, but the new facility in Ahmedabad will allow around 12 cars to be parked in the same area. This means the parking facility will provide nearly six times more parking capacity in that particular space.

Ease Traffic Congestion Around Ratanpol & Relief Road

The new parking facility will have an automated-style system for organised car parking. The goal is to make the best use of available space. As per Desh Gujarat, it could reduce the need for roadside parking and ease traffic around Ratanpol and Relief Road. These areas have many shops and attract several shoppers, especially during festivals.

This rotary parking facility is part of the AMC’s effort to introduce effective parking solutions in areas where parking is often a huge problem. We’re excited to see how this facility will accommodate more cars in a smaller area.
