The annual Amarnath Yatra is accompanied by heightened security, including regulated convoys, highway restrictions, and extensive safety measures. Now, a viral video shows that elite Black Commandos were deployed on the Jammu-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express to provide security to pilgrims travelling for the yatra.
The widely shared video shows the elite commandos safeguarding passengers on board, ensuring a secure and smooth journey for devotees undertaking the sacred pilgrimage.
Beyond this, the Amarnath Yatra is protected by a comprehensive, multi-layered security framework. Pilgrims are escorted to the holy cave in regulated batches to ensure their safe and smooth movement. Given the sensitive terrain and security challenges in the region, these protocols play a crucial role in ensuring the pilgrimage is conducted safely.

All You Need To Know About Amarnath Yatra
The Amarnath Yatra will continue for 57 days and conclude on August 28, 2026. To undertake the pilgrimage, devotees must carry a valid Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) issued by an authorised doctor or hospital, a government-issued photo ID such as Aadhaar, and four passport-sized photographs.
As per the official guidelines, only pilgrims aged between 13 and 70 years are permitted to undertake the yatra. Women who are more than six weeks pregnant are not allowed to participate. Devotees can reach the holy cave via two routes. The shorter but steeper Baltal route (around 14 km) or the longer, more gradual Pahalgam route (around 46-48 km).
