Scary videos are emerging from Assam as the floods continue to wreak havoc. According to The Times of India, 5.25 lakh people across 763 villages are still affected by the disaster. Although the water levels are slowly going down, the death toll has unfortunately climbed to 68 after two more people lost their lives in Charaideo. An X user uploaded a video showing the terrifying visuals from Assam.
Reportedly, the Dhansiri (South) at Numaligarh is the only river still flowing above the danger level. The floods have not just affected lives but have also damaged crops. Nearly 48,742 hectares of crop area remain submerged. The floods have also caused losses to livestock in several affected areas.

Relief & Rehabilitation Operations Continue Across Affected Districts
According to The Times of India, relief and rehabilitation efforts are underway across the affected areas by the NDRF and SDRF. The teams are trying their best to bring the situation under control and prevent further damage in Assam. The state government is also working to restore electricity in places where the power supply was suspended as a precaution during the floods.
The number of affected districts has fallen to nine, but many people are still grappling with the aftermath. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has stated that the government is prioritising relief work in the worst-affected districts, including Sivasagar, Jorhat and Golaghat. People in Assam are going through a difficult time, and everyone is being urged to help in any way they can.
