When ordering food online, we can never be completely sure what will arrive at our doorstep. From insects in food to poor packaging and even expired ingredients, people often report such unpleasant experiences. However, one recent incident caught our attention for a rather unusual reason, a smoked beedi was allegedly found in a pav bhaji order from Zomato. Read on to know more.

Bengaluru Man Finds Smoked Beedi In Pav Bhaji Order

Bengaluru man Priyam Tahabilder took to LinkedIn to share his experience with a Zomato food order. He mentioned that he ordered pav bhaji through the platform and got an unexpected “freebie” when he opened the packaging. Well, it was definitely not the kind of surprise anyone would want with their meal.

Priyam found a smoked beedi placed with the chopped onions in his pav bhaji order. Clearly, it was not the kind of extra item he had expected. Sharing the incident, he wrote, “not the kind of freebie I’d have wanted honestly.” Later, he added that he got ₹100 off on his next order. The incident has also raised concerns about food hygiene and the safety of online food deliveries.

Post Sparks Reactions Online

The post quickly gained attention online. Several people reacted to the unusual incident and questioned how the beedi ended up with the food.

One user commented, “Extra smoke flavour added.”

Another user asked, “Zomato doesn’t do the packaging/preparing of the food you ordered. They provide a service to deliver food from one source to another and can take action against the restaurant from where you ordered. So, why have you not mentioned the restaurant’s name in this post?”

Another netizen added, “It’s time to eat home-cooked food. Peace.”

“At least they didn’t charge extra for the smoking experience,” one comment read.
