Hotels and restaurants in Bengaluru will be allowed to stay open till 3:30 am on July 14, 15 and 18. The timings have been extended to let football fans watch the 2026 FIFA World Cup matches on big screens. This announcement was recently made by Chief Minister DK Shivakumar following a request from the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI).
On normal days, restaurants close at 1 am. But this relaxation for three days is definitely great news for football fans in the city. They will be able to watch the matches with their buddies while enjoying food and hours of celebrations. According to the Chief Minister’s announcement on X, the decision has been taken while ensuring that public safety, law and order, and the convenience of citizens remain the government’s highest priority.

Fans Urged To Enjoy Matches Responsibly
Karnataka’s Chief Minister also urged fans to enjoy the matches responsibly and extend full cooperation to the authorities. The special decision was taken because the football matches start at 12:30 am IST and continue beyond 1 am. A representative from the NRAI told The Hindu that these matches attract huge crowds when screened at restaurants, which prompted the association to request this relaxation.
This means that if you are in Bengaluru, you will be able to comfortably watch your favourite football players on a big screen at a restaurant. However, make sure to cooperate with the authorities and follow all rules and regulations.
