Often, when travellers stop at petrol pumps to fill their tanks, they also look for a short break with water bottles and food packets. Understanding this, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has come up with an interesting idea. IndianOil now plans to launch packaged drinking water under its own brand. Scroll down to know the details!

IndianOil Plans To Launch Its Own Packaged Drinking Water

Acorss India, IndianOil has more than 43,000 retail outlets and now wants to use these outlets to sell more products apart from fuel and increase its income. So, this is why they’re planning to launch their own packaged drinking water. As per The Hindu, the company has invited other companies to help make, supply and sell its packaged drinking water. 

IndianOil will own the packaged water brand. However, other selected companies will handle the work. They will make the water at approved facilities, check its quality, manage its supply and transport it to IndianOil outlets. The company is planning to launch packaged drinking water in phases.

Where Will The Oil Company Distribute Water Bottles?

IndianOil’s packaged drinking water will be available across all its 43,603 outlets. However, for the launch, the oil company will first focus on highway petrol pumps, where travellers often need drinking water.

In How Many Sizes Will Indian Oil Launch Water Bottles?

IndianOil will introduce bottles in three sizes. They are 250 ml, 500 ml and 1-litre bottles, with the 1-litre bottle as the main product.

According to The Hindu, in the future, the oil company also plans to introduce premium water, natural mineral water, alkaline water, functional hydration products and more pack sizes.

IndianOil will decide the price of the packaged water. The company wants to increase its non-fuel revenue from ₹200 crore to ₹760 crore. It also aims to achieve more than ₹11,000 crore in GMV (gross merchandise value).
