Now, Leh-Ladakh is set to host the Sindhu Darshan Yatra, and for people planning to attend the pilgrimage, the Bihar Government has announced financial assistance. Read on to know more!

Bihar Government To Support Sindhu Darshan Yatra Travellers

In the meeting held on June 17, the Bihar Cabinet approved the Sindhu Darshan Pilgrimage Financial Assistance Grant Scheme. As per Mint, the Tourism Department proposed this plan to help permanent residents of Bihar and reduce the travel burden of attending the Sindhu Darshan Yatra.

What is this new scheme? Under it, eligible pilgrims from Bihar can claim 50% of their travel expenses or up to ₹20,000 per person, whichever is lower. Travellers must first complete the journey and then apply for financial assistance. The government will not provide any advance payment for the pilgrimage.

How To Apply For Reimbursement?

If you’re planning to visit this Sindhu Darshan Yatra and are willing to claim the reimbursement, here’s how you can apply for it. Make sure you keep all your travel tickets, bills, and receipts safe during the Sindhu Darshan Yatra. Once you return from the pilgrimage, you can submit these documents along with your application to the Tourism Department. Officials will then verify the details and calculate the amount you are eligible for. If everything is approved, the reimbursement amount will be directly credited to your account. 

Sindhu Darshan Yatra is a spiritual and cultural pilgrimage held on the banks of the Indus (Sindhu) River in Leh-Ladakh. This year marks its 30th edition, along with the first-ever Sindhu Kumbh. This Yatra was started to celebrate India’s unity, honour the historic Sindhu River, and promote spirituality. The event will take place from June 22 to June 27, 2026.
