There is something about many airline meals and food items that passengers do not like and often complain about. To not compromise on the day’s meals, an elderly couple came prepared with their own homemade food on the plane and enjoyed it. The pictures of them are now going viral on social media.

An X user, @NalinisKitchen, recently uploaded a picture of an old couple enjoying a homemade meal that they got from home on a flight. They could be seen with a steel plate in front of them with chapatis, sabzi and dahi. The woman could be seen with an Amul dahi packet, which they also brought on their flight.
Bringing homemade food on a flight is now not uncommon. Many passengers prefer a proper meal instead of eating airline food, which can sometimes be bland, cold or dry. The caption under the video read, “If you are paying thousands for a flight ticket and still have to eat tasteless airline food, this is what you should do. This uncle and aunty came prepared with their own homemade food and are enjoying it. I am lovin’ it.”

Netizens Have Mixed Opinions On Airline Food
Netizens were quick to jump to the comment section and express their opinions. One user asked, “Is it safe to eat any food at such an altitude? Airline food menu is designed keeping certain factors in mind,” while another wrote, “Homemade food is best.”
A third user commented, “It’s right! Even paying thousands of rupees for airlines that are providing tasteless food, they should allow us to get the home food to eat on the flight, like how we eat in trains.”
Some people did not agree with carrying homemade food and wrote that the food on planes is cooked with fewer spices so that people can sit comfortably during flights without any discomfort. One user even commented, “It’s a flight, not a picnic spot.” It is clear that people had mixed opinions on bringing homemade food on a flight.
Just a few days back, a video went viral online showing a group of Indian passengers distributing snacks on disposable plates on a flight mid-air to their family members, as if they were at home. That clip also raised a lot of questions about the flight behaviour of people.
What are your thoughts on this? Do you think people should be allowed to carry homemade meals on a plane?
