The rain also triggered a landslide in Shimla’s Khalini area, damaging two cars parked by the roadside. Several other parts of the state also reported damage as heavy downpours continued. The areas that received heavy rainfall include Kangra, Sirmaur, Nahan, Shimla, Solan and Mandi. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for some areas of Himachal Pradesh from August 31 to September 3.
