Delhi Metro Opens A New State-Of-The-Art Museum
Do you like exploring new museums? If yes, this one is for you. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has opened a new state-of-the-art museum at the Supreme Court metro station. According to a post shared on X by DMRC, the museum will open to the public on Friday, December 19. It will operate from 10 am to 4 pm. What Visitors Can Expect Inside The Museum
According to DMRC, the museum features simulators that offer a real-world feel of driving a metro train. It also houses working models of a tunnel boring machine and a launching girder. Visitors can play interactive games and learn how metro systems are built. Apart from this, the museum includes quiz screens, selfie points, and a souvenir shop for a bit of retail therapy. In Phase 1, more than 50 panels, exhibits, and kiosks have been installed. Officials will introduce newer displays and innovations in Phase 2.
Spread across approximately 12,000 square feet, the new Delhi Metro Museum has been designed in line with some of the finest metro museums in the world. It is located on the Blue Line of the Delhi Metro and sits close to major landmarks such as Bharat Mandapam and the Supreme Court. This also makes it easily accessible by road.
It is worth noting that India’s first metro museum was inaugurated at the Patel Chowk metro station in 2008. That museum has now been closed. The new one at the Supreme Court metro station is larger and far more immersive. The museum beautifully showcases the golden history and glorious journey of the Delhi Metro.
