Delhi Traffic Police Issues Traffic Advisory For Jagannath Rath Yatra
During major festivals and religious processions, streets often witness heavy traffic congestion. Keeping this in mind and to avoid such a situation during the Jagannath Rath Yatra in Delhi’s Hauz Khas, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory. Commuters, especially those travelling around Aurobindo Marg, are advised to plan their journeys in advance.
According to the advisory, special traffic arrangements will be in place from 2 PM to 7 PM on July 16. As per Hindustan Times, traffic restrictions will be in place on both sides of Aurobindo Marg between the IIT Flyover (Outer Ring Road) and the AIIMS Flyover Loop (Ring Road).
Traffic restrictions and diversions will also be in place on nearby roads, including Balbir Saxena Marg, Chaudhary Dilip Singh Marg, Choudhary Hukum Chand Marg, and Gautam Nagar TOD.

What Are The Alternative Routes?
Commuters travelling from MG Road and Mehrauli can take alternative routes such as the Outer Ring Road, August Kranti Marg, JB Tito Marg, or Africa Avenue. Hindustan Times reported that commuters travelling from New Delhi towards Mehrauli or Gurugram are advised to avoid Aurobindo Marg and use routes via Ring Road, Africa Avenue, August Kranti Marg, or JB Tito Marg.
The authorities have also advised commuters to use the Delhi Metro. People travelling to destinations such as airports, railway stations, hospitals, or other important places should leave early and allow extra travel time in hand.
