The Delhi Public Works Department (PWD) will soon start feasibility studies for the three flyovers, reported Hindustan Times. The studies will cost over ₹10 crore in total and are part of Delhi’s plan to reduce traffic, especially on the Outer Ring Road. Before the construction of these new flyovers begins, officials will take a look at the practicality, cost, and environmental impact of each flyover.

Curious about where these new flyovers will take you? The first flyover will link Kanjhawala Chowk with Mangolpuri and connect to the recently opened Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II). The second will stretch along the Supplementary Drain, connecting Keshopur Depot to Haiderpur, providing a smoother route for commuters. The third flyover is planned between Sagarpur and Mayapuri Chowk, aiming to reduce congestion in the area.

More Details About The Proposed Flyovers

The first flyover in Delhi will cover a 10-km stretch. It will connect key points like Kanjhawala Chowk UER-II, Sector-22 Rohini (Begumpur), Y-Block Mangolpuri, and Pathar Market. Officials said the feasibility study for this section will cost ₹3.4 crore, with the detailed project report (DPR) expected within six months.

According to Hindustan Times, the second flyover will run along the Supplementary Drain, connecting Keshopur Depot to Haiderpur. This flyover will be over 17.5 km, and the study for the same will cost ₹5.6 crore. It will include a survey of buildings, encroachments, signage, road features, and environmental impact, including tree preservation.

The third proposed flyover between Sagarpur and Mayapuri Chowk is expected to span 4.3 km. It might face challenges like proximity to Tihar Jail, a high-tension power line, and around 300 trees along the route. Its feasibility study will cost ₹1.3 crore and is likely to take six months.
