Before we get into the details, you should know that this initiative aims to expand and increase adventurous activities in the capital. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has worked hard to bring this to life. As per a report by India Today, successful trials were done recently at the DDA’s Baansera Park on the Yamuna riverfront. Now, the rides for the public are expected to start from November 29.
Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena also took to his official X account to share the news. Apart from Baansera Park, the hot air balloon rides will also be available at Asita Riverfront, Yamuna Sports Complex, and the Commonwealth Games Sports Complex. Which means Delhiites will have four spots to try this thrilling adventure.

Rides To Be Run By Professional Operators
These hot air balloon rides will be run by a qualified and professional operator. They are designed to meet the highest safety standards. According to a report by India Today, each ride is priced at ₹3000 per person and promises 15-20 minutes of aerial experience. The operator will run two slots daily: one in the morning and one in the evening, depending on weather conditions. Capacity is limited to four people per basket.
The hot air balloons are tethered. This basically means they will remain anchored to the ground as they ascend into the sky. It’s safe and offers controlled panoramic views of the riverfront and the surrounding areas. The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi also wrote on his X account that, “This is another step forward in making Delhi a vibrant city replete with enhanced recreational amenities and world-class infrastructure.”
