To make Diwali even more memorable this year, the Delhi government is planning a special celebration. They are all set with an amazing event called ‘Dilli Deepotsav’ at Kartavya Path on October 18 and 19. Keep reading to know what you can expect at this event.
‘Dilli Deepotsav’ Celebration In The Capital
During this two-day event at Kartavya Path, the government is planning a spectacular show. According to Hindustan, it will feature a drone laser show, cultural performances, and the lighting of over 2 lakh diyas stretching all the way up to India Gate along the Kartavya Path. Many students, volunteers, and government officials will take part in the decoration and will start placing and lighting the diyas from the afternoon of October 18, coinciding with Dhanteras.
Not compromising on cleanliness, authorities are taking special measures to ensure the site is thoroughly cleaned after the celebrations. The drone projection show is planned similarly to the one seen during the Beating Retreat ceremony. The drones will depict stories from the Ramayana, especially about Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya.
More About The Event
The cultural programme in Delhi will also feature local artists and performers. Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, cabinet ministers, and other government officials are expected to attend. The Diwali celebrations will not be limited to Kartavya Path. Hindustan Times reported that over 25 major intersections and landmark areas across central Delhi, including ITO Junction, Patel Chowk, and Signature Bridge, will be decorated with special lighting.
The decorations for this event will start soon and will remain until the Chhath festival. To ensure everything goes smoothly, the chief secretary has coordinated with the traffic police, electricity departments, MCD, and PWD for proper arrangements of traffic, power, and sanitation during the festival season.
We are excited to see how this event will turn out in Delhi. If you’re in the city, make sure you attend this grand celebration.
