Taking to his social media handle, gastroenterologist Dr Shubham Vatsya (@dr.shubhamvatsya) revealed that modern research clearly shows egg yolks do not cause heart attacks. They have very little effect on your cholesterol levels because your liver produces most of the cholesterol in your body. So the cholesterol you get from food, including egg yolks, makes only a small difference. In most healthy people, the body naturally adjusts its own cholesterol production to stay balanced.
He explains that eating one or two eggs a day is generally safe for your heart. Large studies have found no link between daily egg intake and a higher risk of heart disease. In fact, some research even shows that eggs may improve your good cholesterol (HDL). HDL helps clear harmful cholesterol from your arteries, which is one reason eggs can easily fit into a healthy diet.

Here’s How It Benefits
According to the expert, egg yolks contain lutein, choline, and essential vitamins. With these qualities, it can support your heart, liver, and brain health. He explains that the real problem is not the yolk itself but the way people cook it. Many of us mix egg yolks with butter, oil, and heavy ingredients, and then blame the yolk for the negative effects.
Dr Vatsya recommends that a person can safely eat up to three whole eggs a day when prepared in a healthy way. This won’t harm the body or increase heart disease risk for most people. So the next time you crack an egg, remember what Dr Vatsya said — the yolk isn’t the enemy. It’s actually one of the most nutrient-rich parts of your plate.
