There’s simply no match for the strength of women living in the Himalayan region. A foreign influencer from Catalonia, Spain, recently shared a video comparing her own strength with that of the local mountain women, and quickly realised that pahadi women are on a whole different level. Read on to find out what happened in this incredible encounter.

Strength Test: Foreigner Vs Pahadi Woman

Foreign influencer Gemma Colell (@indra.creativa) is currently exploring the Himalayan region of India, and has been documenting her experiences there. Recently, she shared one such encounter on social media, concluding that “Foreigners vs Pahadi people — no competition at all!”

While on her way to the market in a small village in Bank, Chamoli, Uttarakhand, she came across two women cutting grass for their buffaloes. An hour later, on her return journey, she saw that they had finished and loaded all the grass and bundled it up for pickup. When the women noticed her, one of them, named Khirbul Devi, gave her a mischievous smile—and before she knew it, Gemma was being challenged to lift one of the grass bundles.

Further, she mentioned that she usually carries 20–25 kg on treks, but the bundle offered by the local woman weighed around 40 kg. While Gemma struggled, the pahadi aunty, as she called her, lifted it effortlessly, showcasing the strength and skill of the mountain locals. The lady’s victorious “peace out” pose was an absolute must-see in the end.
