There is a special media kit being handed over to the journalists covering the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi. India’s Ministry of External Affairs has packed the kit with traditional food items like sattu, coffee and handcrafted products to show off India’s rich culture. Here’s what’s included in the kit.

BRICS Delhi Media Kit Includes India’s Regional Food Products

Some regional food items and handcrafted products showing India’s rich heritage have now found their way into the BRICS Delhi media kit. According to The Tribune, the special kit does not have the usual boring stuff but contains earthy sattu and makhana from Bihar, coffee grown in the hills of Koraput, Odisha and intricate handicrafts from Gujarat.

The kit is put together by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to show off India’s regional food and culture to the international media through products sourced from different states. Sattu, which is consumed as a drink, represents Bihar’s culinary heritage, while makhana represents the state’s agriculture and food products.

Coffee from Koraput represents Odisha’s growing coffee landscape, while Gujarat’s handicrafts help showcase its artisanal traditions and craftsmanship.
