Nature Walks, Bird-Watching, Trekking & More
Maya Sarovar, which is spread over nearly five acres, is already one of the main tourist attractions in Bodh Gaya. It has a water body, green landscapes and offers a laser show based on the life of Buddha. People often visit this place to soak in the tranquil and peaceful vibes. According to The Times of India, the department is planning more eco-tourism activities around other spots in Bodh Gaya.
The focus will be on environmental protection, cleanliness and the involvement of local communities in tourism-related activities. There would be nature walks, trekking, bird watching, nature camps and eco-friendly accommodation for tourists. These plans may help to bring tourists closer to nature while also creating awareness about the need to protect the environment.
Moreover, these activities will also boost tourism footfall, which in turn could create a market for local handicrafts, handloom products and more.
