On Thursday, September 4, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar introduced the logo and shared the plan of India’s first and largest AI-integrated township. The Greater Bengaluru Integrated Township (GBIT) will span across 9,000 acres and will be the second CBD in the state, Hindustan Times reported. Keeping the AI-driven industries in focus, the new project in Karnataka is expected to provide lakhs of job opportunities in various sectors. These sectors include IT, startups, and services. The project is expected to be completed in the next three years.

The government is making sure farmers benefit from the project. Until farmers receive developed plots or compensation, those who own land will get yearly payments between ₹30,000 and ₹50,000 for every acre. Families without land will also get ₹25,000 every year.

The upcoming India’s first AI-integrated city in Bengaluru will follow a ‘work-live-play’ model. It will provide a seamless ecosystem to businesses and residents. The town will have residential clusters, schools, hospitals, and cultural centres. Around 1,100 acres of land will be allocated to green spaces and parks. To make commuting easier and reduce travel costs, homes and offices will be built in proximity to each other.

According to Hindustan Times, a 300-metre-wide business corridor will connect highways such as STRR, NH-209, NH-275, and NICE Road. 2,000 acres of land will be given to AI-based industries and ancillary units. Along with the Artificial Intelligence project, the state government has also allocated ₹750–1,000 crore for restoring the Bairamangala lake and developing the lakefront in the state.
