Mumbai-Pune Expressway Sees Heavy Traffic Jam
At the Khalapur toll plaza in Raigad district on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, a huge traffic rush has been reported. As per NDTV report, vehicles have been stuck on a stretch of around 2 to 3 kilometres. Due to this, passengers are getting delayed in reaching their destinations. Now, to avoid adding to the traffic and reach Konkan quickly, many commuters are taking an alternative route.
The commuters are exiting at the Khopoli exit near Khalapur, and then there they’re taking a U-turn moving towards Pali via the Khopoli-Pen Road and Pali Phata. From Pali, they can head towards Wakan Phata and travel on the Mumbai-Goa Highway to reach Konkan without any jam.

Raigad Police Suggest Alternative Routes
According to NDTV report, Raigad Police have also suggested some alternative routes for Konkan commuters. According to the police, commuters can travel on the Pali-Vile-Nizampur-Raigad Road-Mahad route and the Pali-Vile-Nizampur-Mangaon route to reach Konkan. The police have also advised commuters to prefer alternate routes to avoid the heavy traffic jam near Khalapur.
The Mumbai-Pune Expressway often sees huge traffic jams, especially during festivals, as it is an important route connecting Mumbai, Pune and many parts of the state. So, to make sure you don’t get stuck in hours-long traffic, consider taking the alternative routes suggested by the police.
