When it comes to getting around by road, most Indians prefer booking a cab and enjoying a smooth, hassle-free ride. Last year, people Ubered more than ever, and Uber India’s annual report, How India Ubered 2025, shows exactly how we moved across the country. From favourite cities and travel times to rider habits, the report gives a peek into how India rides today.

How India Ubered In 2025

In 2025, people in India travelled over 11.6 billion kilometres on Uber, which is 26.5% more than in 2024. Think of it as taking more than 3.2 million trips from Srinagar to Kanyakumari—or around 8,840 trips every single day.

Riders across the country were polite and reliable. Kochi came out on top, with an average rider rating of 4.91 out of 5, and 98.3% of trips there got full five stars from drivers. Thiruvananthapuram was next with 4.87, while Pune and Chandigarh also ranked among the cities with the most highly rated riders.

According to Uber India, Fridays were the busiest. Their report showed that many Uber rides were booked around 6:00 pm, with Friday being the busiest day of the week. Most rides were booked in November, and December 12 had the highest number of trips in a single day.

For Uber Rentals, the two-hour package was the most popular choice. Mumbai and Kolkata had the most late-night trips, while Mumbai, Guwahati, and Chennai saw the highest number of rides during weekends. Bhubaneswar and Thiruvananthapuram led in trips during office hours. When it came to intercity travel, Agra, Mysore, Puri, and Lonavala were the most popular tourist destinations.

Uber’s green and premium services also grew a lot in 2025. Indians travelled 365 million kilometres in Uber EVs, spending a total of 54 million hours in electric vehicles, showing a shift towards greener rides. Uber Black, the premium option, covered over 34 million kilometres, mostly for airport and work trips, and is available in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore.

Uber Courier deliveries were busiest between 1 pm and 3 pm, with around 3 million people trying the service for the first time. One top courier completed as many as 5,218 deliveries during the year. Uber Shuttle also became popular, attracting nearly 800,000 first-time riders to app-based bus travel. Even pets enjoyed the ride—Uber Pet trips covered almost 800,000 kilometres across India.

The top five cities with the most Uber rides were Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Pune. The fastest average speeds were recorded in Bhubaneswar, Thiruvananthapuram, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, and Chandigarh. The most popular intercity routes were Mumbai-Pune, Delhi-Agra, Bangalore-Mysore, Lucknow-Kanpur, and Ahmedabad-Vadodara. The longest trips included Gurgaon-Ahmedabad-Gurgaon, Delhi-Ahmedabad-Delhi, Kharagpur-Pune, Delhi-Srinagar-Delhi, and Delhi-Prayagraj-Delhi.
