Kashmir, known for its picturesque landscapes and serene valleys, now has an all-new attraction! Srinagar has unveiled Asia’s largest chrysanthemum garden, Bagh-e-Gul-e-Dawood, inside the Nehru Memorial Botanical Garden. The garden was inaugurated on October 25 by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. It features the chrysanthemum plant in so many colours, including pink, violet, yellow, and more! It Could Be A Much-Needed Boost For Kashmir Tourism

During the inauguration, CM Omar Abdullah reportedly said that people often assumed flowers couldn’t bloom in Kashmir after summer. With this new garden, the government hopes to prove them wrong. This new chrysanthemum garden will help to extend the tourist season beyond the tulip bloom and showcase Kashmir’s floral diversity to the tourists.
Apart from being beautiful, the garden also brings hope for Kashmir’s tourism sector, which is still recovering from the widespread cancellations after the Pahalgam tragedy in April. According to a report by Times Now News, officials estimate that this newly opened chrysanthemum garden could generate revenue of ₹500 to ₹700 crore in this season alone. It would definitely give a much-needed boost to local and hospitality businesses in Kashmir.
