We all thought winter might be over in India, but apparently, the cold has returned. Rain lashed Delhi on Friday, while several hilly regions such as Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh witnessed the season’s first snowfall. The snowfall turned these regions into a winter wonderland. Temperatures have dropped once again, and people are feeling chilly. Here are the latest weather updates you should know.
Delhi NCR Sees Rain
Delhi NCR woke up to clear skies after rain and thunderstorms lashed the city a day earlier. Friday brought sudden weather changes that many did not expect. Just when people thought winter was finally saying goodbye, the weather changed again, and temperatures dropped. According to a report by Hindustan Times, while the rain made the air feel colder, it also helped bring down pollution levels in the city.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that Delhi NCR is expected to see cloudy skies on Saturday. Residents can expect moderate fog in the morning along with strong winds. Temperatures may drop further over the next three days before rising again.
Not just Delhi, Tamil Nadu also witnessed unseasonal rains. As per a report by ABP News, Chennai and several other coastal districts were recently lashed by rain. Showers are likely to continue across the state over the coming days. The sudden change in weather caused traffic disruptions in several areas.
