Indian artisanal cheeses have just received recognition on a global stage, even though the segment remains relatively unfamiliar to most consumers in the country. India just bagged four awards at the Mundial do Queijo do Brasil 2026, an international competition for cheese and dairy products held in São Paulo. Read on to know more about it.
Indian Artisanal Cheeses Wins 4 Global Awards
As per a report by CNBC TV, India won one Super Gold, two Golds and one Silver medal in its debut appearance. The highest recognition, Super Gold, was awarded to Eleftheria Gulmarg, a Brie-style cheese made by Mumbai-based Eleftheria Cheese. The cheese was made by using cow’s milk and kept for around two to three weeks.

The Mundial do Queijo do Brasil 2026, also known as the 4th World Cheese Awards of Brazil, was held from April 16 to 19, 2026, at the Teatro B32 in São Paulo.
