Who doesn’t want to live in one of the best places in the world? Ireland, an island in Europe, is one of the most dreamy places in the world. Filled with lush greenery and cinematic locations, the island is rightfully present on the bucket list for most people. And now, this dream could become a reality with permanent residency, also known as Ireland’s Long-Term Residence. Ireland’s Permanent Residency Process

With Ireland Permanent Residency (PR), non-EU/EEA citizens, including Indians, can live, work and study there. But there’s a condition. To obtain the PR, one must have lived or worked on this island for over five years, NDTV reported. The process includes:

  1. At the first step, you need to get a Critical Skills Employment Permit, valid for 2 years.
  2. Apply for a Stamp 4 visa that allows you to stay in Ireland for another 3 years.
  3. After 5 years, you can apply for Long-Term Residency.

Eligibility For PR

To apply for Permanent Residency, a person must meet certain conditions. The applicants must have lived in Ireland legally for at least 60 months. They need to hold a valid work permit, such as a General Employment Permit, and be legally employed at the time of applying. A clean criminal record is required, along with proof of financial stability. It’s also very important for a person to have followed all the rules and conditions of previous visas or permits without any violations.

What Is The Overall Application Process?

Here is the complete application process to apply for Permanent Residency.

  1. Prepare documents, including a form, a valid passport, a current Irish Residence Permit (IRP) card, all past employment permits, and a certificate of registration.
  2. Submit the application to Immigration Service Delivery (ISD).
  3. The processing takes almost six to eight months.
  4. Within 28 days of receiving the approval letter, a person should pay the fees that are €500 (approx. ₹ 51,254).
  5. After approval, you will receive a Stamp 4 visa status as a Long-Term Resident.

According to NDTV, Ireland’s Permanent Residency costs less than ₹52,000, which is comparatively less than other countries. With this, Indians can leverage an opportunity to study, work and live in one of the well-known places in a European country.
