Stadium Will Be Built On 75 Acres Of Land
Bengaluru already has the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, which has a limited seating capacity of 32,000. The stadium has long been considered insufficient for high-profile international matches and Indian Premier League (IPL) games. According to The Indian Express, the decision to build a high-capacity cricket stadium was taken after the devastating stampede in June 2025 outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, which claimed 11 lives.
This new stadium will be built on 75 acres of land owned by the Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) in the fourth phase of Suryanagar in Anekal, near the border of Tamil Nadu. Moreover, you would like to know that Bengaluru is also planning its longest metro line with a spur line that will take passengers directly to this cricket stadium. If everything goes according to plan, the city might soon have a new world-class stadium perfect for high-profile cricket matches.
