Isthmus 44 Launches First Single-Cask Scotch In India
Isthmus 44 has introduced Chapter I, its first single-cask Scotch whisky. This Scotch was launched at Oak & Cru, The Quorum, Gurugram, on 25 August. The launch event was attended by whisky collectors, connoisseurs, trade professionals and industry veterans.
The launch marks Isthmus 44’s entry into India’s Scotch bottling space. In this process, individual whisky casks are carefully selected based on their origin, how they have matured and their flavour. Each cask has a limited amount of whisky, so the same expression cannot be made again once all the bottles are sold.

What Is The Price Of This Bottle?
Chapter I comes from The GlenAllachie Distillery in Speyside. The whisky was distilled on 24 October 2016 and matured for nine years in an ex-Oloroso sherry hogshead. It was bottled on 15 January 2026 at 46.2% ABV.
The release includes 343 bottles, with an MRP of ₹12,000. The whisky comes without chill filtration or added colour. It offers notes of dark fruit and lingering spice from the Oloroso-seasoned oak. At the same time, GlenAllachie’s sweet and malty character remains noticeable.
The launch had plenty for whisky lovers to explore. Guests attended a digital presentation that explained how the cask was selected. They then joined a guided tasting and discovered the whisky’s nose, palate and finish. A curated food menu also showed how the whisky pairs with different ingredients, textures and preparations.
The fun continued with a cask-personalisation activity. Guests got miniature display barrels to create their own designs and took the finished pieces home as keepsakes.
Those who own a numbered Chapter bottle will get access to The Circle, Isthmus 44’s special register for Chapter owners. Members will get early updates about upcoming whisky selections, notes from the expert panel and invitations to future releases and events.
