Is Taj Mahal Invisible? Thick Fog Covers Agra, Making Monument Disappear From Plain Sight

Taj Mahal

Monday morning brought a foggy wake-up call for several cities across Uttar Pradesh as thick smog and dense fog covered roads and neighbourhoods. This led to reduced visibility and air quality at worrying levels. In Agra, the fog was so dense that even the iconic Taj Mahal disappeared from view. Scroll down to know more!

Taj Mahal Disappears Due To Dense Fog

A thick blanket of smog and dense fog covered Agra during a cold wave, causing visibility to drop sharply across the city. What was most surprising was that the gorgeous view of the iconic Taj Mahal disappeared. The fog made roads hard to see, and vehicles were forced to move slowly. Adding more to the situation, cold weather made it difficult for the residents and locals to begin their morning activities.

Many tourists shared pictures of the Taj Mahal, almost invisible due to thick fog, on their social media handles. Some even joked about how spotting the iconic monument has become a challenge these days. If you’re planning to visit Agra soon, make sure you check the weather first. The thick fog, making the monument disappear, has not happened for the first time. It is a usual sight for tourists when visiting during winter.

Other Cities In The State

Other cities in Uttar Pradesh also faced similar foggy and cold conditions. People experienced thick smog covering Varanasi, making it hard for people to move around in the morning. Mainpuri saw dense fog that lowered visibility, forcing drivers to slow down. In Prayagraj, residents woke up to cold weather and heavy fog. This type of weather disrupts daily routines and outdoor activities for residents.

Air quality across Uttar Pradesh has been different from one another. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) revealed that Agra recorded a ā€œpoorā€ AQI between 200 and 300. As per The News Mill, Lucknow was in slightly better conditions with a ā€œmoderateā€ AQI ranging from 101 to 200. This shows how pollution levels differed from city to city, affecting residents’ daily lives and outdoor activities.

Moreover, in Delhi, residents struggled with a severe air pollution crisis as a thick layer of toxic smog covered large parts of the capital. Visibility dropped sharply, making landmarks and roads difficult to see during the morning hours.

We hope the situation gets under control soon!
