India’s AI-based train ticketing platform, ixigo Trains, has launched Holiday Packages with ixigo Bharat Darshan, a new feature that allows tourists to discover and book curated spiritual and family holiday packages from IRCTC directly through the ixigo Trains app. The new ixigo Bharat Darshan feature brings multiple aspects of a trip together under one booking. Ixigo Launches Bharat Darshan Holiday Packages
Travellers can plan their journey with train travel, accommodation, sightseeing, meals and local transportation included in a single curated package, avoiding the need to manage separate bookings across different platforms.
The feature will initially focus on spiritual and pilgrimage circuits across India, covering destinations such as Vaishno Devi, Ayodhya, Char Dham, Tirupati and Shirdi. Family holiday destinations, including Kashmir and the Northeast, will also be available. Packages are offered in Comfort and Superior categories, with prices starting at ₹6,990 and going up to ₹2–3 lakh for premium experiences. One of the main features of ixigo Bharat Darshan is that it offers an alternative for travellers unable to secure confirmed train tickets. For example, someone planning a trip from Delhi to Vaishno Devi who is unable to get a confirmed ticket can opt for a curated Bharat Darshan package instead of managing a waitlisted journey and arranging accommodation, transport and sightseeing separately.
Searches For Spiritual Destinations Have Grown By 15-20%
Speaking about the launch, Dinesh Kumar Kotha, CEO, ixigo Trains & ConfirmTkt, stated that spiritual travel has been gaining momentum in India, with travellers increasingly looking for convenient and organised trips to cultural and religious destinations. According to ixigo, searches for trains to popular spiritual destinations such as Haridwar, Rishikesh, Ujjain, Shirdi and Varanasi have grown by 15–20% year-on-year.
Kotha said the Bharat Darshan feature builds on this trend by making complete pilgrimage and family travel experiences easier to discover and book, while reducing the complexity involved in planning such trips.
