Kinner Kailash Yatra 2026 To Begin From July 30
Kinner Kailash Yatra is a holy trek to the sacred Kinner Kailash mountain, located in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. Here, people worship the massive 79-foot-tall natural rock structure, which is shaped like a Shivling. Known as one of the toughest treks in India, pilgrims must hike through steep and narrow trails up to an altitude of around 17,200 feet to complete their pilgrimage.
This year, the yatra is all set to start from July 30, subject to favourable weather conditions. According to The Tribune, the yatra was originally scheduled to begin on July 1, but was postponed due to safety concerns and risks along the route, such as unstable boulders and falling rocks. The yatra will now be conducted from July 30 to August 10 through the Tangling-Meling Khata-Cave route only.

Registration Is Mandatory For All Pilgrims
According to The Tribune, online registration for the Kinner Kailash Yatra will begin on July 28. Offline registration will start on July 30. A maximum of 375 pilgrims will be allowed each day. Reportedly, 175 slots are reserved for online registration and 125 for offline registration. 75 people can also register through the Adventure Tour Operators Association Kinnaur. Registration is mandatory, and no pilgrim will be allowed to undertake the yatra without it.
A review meeting chaired by Kalpa SDM and Kinner Kailash Yatra Organising Committee chairman Praveen Bhardwaj was recently held, where these details were discussed. Along with this, the authorities also reviewed preparations for traffic regulation, medical aid, drinking water supply, law and order, disaster management, and overall safety.
