A popular modern European restaurant and bar visited by celebrities, La Panthera in Mumbai has now opened its second outlet in the iconic 1930s Eros Building in Churchgate. The new 80-seater place has arrived with a character of its own, drawing inspiration from South Bombay rather than replicating the original place in BKC.
La Panthera Opens Its Second Outlet In Mumbai’s Eros Building
La Panthera, one of the best restaurants in Mumbai, was founded by the well-known Spanish chef Manuel Olveira and his wife, Mickee Tuljapurkar, in BKC. After the success of their first outlet, the brand has now expanded with a second branch at the historic Eros Building in Churchgate, South Mumbai.
Rather than simply looking like their first outpost, the new 80-seater is designed as a distinct expression of the brand. It draws heavily from its South Bombay setting. At the heart of the restaurant is Chef Manuel’s philosophy of “comfort food, refined” and a European menu shaped by his Spanish roots, travels and experiences across European kitchens.
Expect a menu serving Spanish Pintxos and Tapas, 48-hour fermented pizzas, pastas, mains and desserts. The menu definitely combines comfort dishes with contemporary techniques and flavours. And yes, all the items prominently feature Spanish ingredients, giving them an authentic taste of Spain.
Flavourful Cocktails, Library Lounge, Terrace & More
But here’s what’s new about the second La Panthera outlet in the Eros Building, Mumbai. Spanish culture is particularly central to it, with a Pintxos menu and Aperitivo Hour from 5:30 pm to 7 pm, followed by dinner and a late-night offering of Spanish bar bites and pizzas.
The cocktail programme also follows a similar philosophy of giving classics a thoughtful twist with techniques such as clarification, infusions and reductions. The cocktails crafted with house-made ingredients put emphasis on flavours rather than presentation.
Now let’s talk about what you can expect from the vibe and interiors once you step inside. The interiors, designed by Gowri Adappa of A Design Co, take inspiration from the Eros Building without recreating its Art Deco heritage. You can expect elegant, lived-in, South Bombay apartment-like interiors with vintage lighting, brass, timber, terrazzo, mirrors, art and curved forms.
The new La Panthera in Mumbai also features a central bar, intimate dining spaces, a library lounge, a private dining room, an open kitchen, a visible pizza oven and a terrace.
