Mumbai Int’l Airport Hits New Record With 1.76 L Passengers Per Day Travelling To Dubai, Delhi

Counted among India’s busiest airports, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) is no stranger to big crowds. And November 2025 was no different. Thanks to festive trips and early winter getaways, the airport saw a major rush of travellers. From short domestic hops to long international journeys, CSMIA stayed buzzing all month long. Mumbai Airport Sets A New Milestone

In November, with the holiday season in full swing, CSMIA saw over 48.88 lakh passengers pass through. The Mumbai airport also experienced some of its busiest days ever, especially toward the end of the month.

November was special as the airport broke its top three single-day passenger records. The busiest day was November 29, when 1.76 lakh passengers travelled through CSMIA. Earlier records fell on November 15 and 22, with over 1.72 lakh passengers each day. These numbers show just how hectic and lively the airport gets during peak travel season. Thus, in that month, CSMIA handled around 27,960 flights in total.

Domestic And International Travel

Domestic travel at CSMIA was strong in November, with over 34 lakh passengers flying within India. International travel was busy too, carrying more than 14 lakh passengers. Overall, the airport was buzzing with travellers throughout the month.

Among international routes, Dubai was the most popular, with over 2.09 lakh passengers, followed by London Heathrow and Abu Dhabi. On the domestic side, Delhi remained the top route with over 6 lakh passengers, followed by Bengaluru and Chennai.

The record-breaking day of November 29 saw a mix of domestic and international travellers. Around 1.22 lakh passengers flew within India, while over 54,000 travelled internationally. Just a few days earlier, on November 21, the airport recorded its highest-ever daily flights, handling 1,036 take-offs and landings.

Popular international destinations on November 29 included Dubai, London Heathrow, Abu Dhabi, Singapore and Doha. On the domestic network, cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata and Hyderabad saw strong passenger demand.
