Usually, students are seen revising outside their test centres right before going in. But this time, the scenes outside the Re-NEET exam centres in Delhi were different. Swiggy’s Instamart decided to surprise students appearing for the exam by setting up stalls, handing out the ‘dahi-cheeni’ combination, leaving people praising the brand’s sweet gesture.

Eating dahi-cheeni (curd and sugar) before appearing for an exam is a popular traditional practice across India. In Indian households, starting an important task like an exam or an interview with something sweet is believed to ensure a positive result. This is apparently why Swiggy’s Instamart decided to set up stalls serving dahi-cheeni outside several Re-NEET exam centres in the national capital.
Videos and photos of students getting their own boxes of dahi-cheeni from the stalls were shared online and, naturally, left people amused. The initiative was not just by Instamart but also by Milky Mist, a dairy company. According to the X post shared by @gharkekalesh, the box had a small cup of curd, one sugar sachet and a spoon. The blue-coloured box also said, “Paper kardoge beat, exam hoga ekdum NEET.” Honestly, the gesture was super sweet!

Netizens Praise The Sweet Gesture
Netizens on the internet couldn’t stop themselves from praising Instamart and its idea. One user wrote, “This is really such a sweet gesture,” while another commented, “Instamart is playing my mom’s role now.” A third user wrote, “Kudos to Instamart.”
Some users even asked whether the boxes were paid for or free. Many others called the initiative a good marketing gimmick. Even if it’s marketing, we are sure that students must have felt a little happy eating dahi-cheeni before their exam. The setup surely evoked many childhood memories of taking exams for us.
