Second Centre In Ladakh

The new Kargil POPSK is the second centre in Ladakh. The first one was launched in 2017 in Leh. This new passport office fulfils a long-pending demand from residents of the region. The Ladakh Postal Division described the new centre as another step towards strengthening public-service infrastructure in the region.

With the opening of the new passport office, people travelling abroad for Haj and other international pilgrimages will benefit. Those travelling overseas for studies or jobs can also access passport-related services closer to home. The centre will especially benefit students, professionals and other residents who need passports for international travel.
