MakeMyTrip Launches Early Check-In & Late Check-Out
If you are travelling late or arriving early at any hotel, you don’t have to wait at the airport waiting areas for your hotel check-in. MakeMyTrip has launched an early check-in and late check-out feature for travellers. Guests can now book an early or late room slot, in three, six, or nine-hour windows, at the time of booking. The option reduces the burden on the hotel front desks and replaces an informal request with a confirmed, pre-paid agreement. It is India’s first early check-in and late check-out service at this scale, available only on an OTA at the time of booking.
The pattern is similarly visible abroad. On popular short-haul routes to Singapore, Bangkok, and Hanoi, and on long-haul routes including New York, more than half of guests land before 8 AM, while hotel check-in across most international markets stays fixed at 2 to 3 PM. The wait can extend up to eight hours. Many deal with it the expensive way, by paying for an extra night just to guarantee early access for a few hours.
MakeMyTrip smartly surfaces the most suitable early check-in or late check-out window during booking based on the traveller’s arrival or departure time, drawing on available flight, train, or bus details. The result is a win for both sides. As the traveller receives confirmation and assured access in place of an unknown front-desk request. The hotel owner unlocks a share of the stock that would otherwise have gone unsold.

Well, it’s good news, travellers!
