TasteAtlas recently released its list of the ‘100 Best Stews in the World,’ and guess what? Not one or two, but 15 Indian dishes made the cut. Scroll down to see which ones!

Indian Dishes Made It To TasteAtlas’ 100 Best Stews List

Stews are dishes made by slow-cooking vegetables or meat in a liquid, and Indians cuisine has a long and varied list of them. Among the list of 100, 15 dishes have made it to TasteAtlas ‘Best Stews In The World’. These include Murgh Makhani (Butter Chicken) ranked 4th, Shahi Paneer at 6th, Keema at 23rd, Saag Paneer at 28th, Dal Tadka at 36th, Chingri Malai Curry at 39th, Rogan Josh at 48th, Madras Curry at 49th, Pav Bhaji at 55th, Korma at 64th, Misal at 67th, Vindaloo at 71st, Nihari at 73rd, Dal at 92nd, and Paneer Makhani at 93rd.

Murgh Makhani, ranked among the top 5 on the list, is also called Butter Chicken and is one of India’s most famous dishes. Originating in Delhi in the 1950s, it features tandoor-cooked chicken stewed in a rich, creamy tomato and butter gravy with spices. Typically enjoyed with naan, it’s a must-try for anyone who loves flavourful Indian food.
