As per a report by Hindustan Times, KSRTC has announced good news for travellers. The state transport body will be deploying 90 additional buses running between Bengaluru and Kerala during the Onam this year. The special buses will be deployed on the roads between September 2 and 4, just before the main Onam celebrations on September 5. Travel between the two regions will ease the rush and make it more convenient for passengers to travel to their home town for the auspicious festival.

These additional buses will run between key stations in Bengaluru. This includes Shanthinagar Bus Station and Mysuru Road Bus Station. Moreover, a report by The Hindu states that the KSRTC buses will ferry travellers from Bengaluru to major destinations in Kerala like the capital Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad, Ernakulam, Kannur, Thrissur, Kottayam and Kozhikode.

Ensuring Ease Of Convenience For Travellers

Apart from special buses running for Onam, KSRTC has also deployed buses for return trips post the festival in Kerala. The buses will run with return trips from Kerala to Bengaluru. This ensures travellers from Bengaluru can comfortably visit their home town in time for the festivities to be with their families, and return at the end of the festival after having spent a relaxing holiday.

KSRTC officials stated to Hindustan Times that the reason behind these special arrangements is to make sure passengers don’t face any inconveniences while celebrating one of South India’s most special festivals. So, they are encouraged to book their tickets beforehand as they are expecting a heavy rush during this time.
