Travelling in big cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, or Mumbai often means putting in extra effort just to commute smoothly. Understanding this well, Bengaluru is now stepping up its last-mile travel game. The South Western Railways’ Bengaluru division has partnered with Rapido and Namma Yatri to make station-to-destination travel easier. Keep reading for more!
Bengaluru Railways Partners With Rapido & Namma Yatri
By partnering with Rapido & Namma Yatri, Bengaluru Railways is helping passengers book cabs and auto-rickshaws quickly. According to Moneycontrol, the partnership comes with a revenue boost for the Railways, as both mobility companies will together pay ₹53 lakh a year to run their booking kiosks at six key stations.
Rapido plans to open two air-conditioned waiting-and-booking kiosks each at KSR Bengaluru City and Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal in Byappanahalli, along with additional kiosks at Yeswantpur and Hoodi. Meanwhile, Namma Yatri will set up its kiosks at Krishnarajapuram and Whitefield stations, giving passengers more convenient options for booking autos and cabs right from the station.
Railway officials said each kiosk will have at least five cars available at all times, along with auto-rickshaws. Passengers can book their rides from the booth instead of searching for one outside. Railways will open bids on December 5 for kiosks at Jnanabharathi, Yelahanka, Malleshwaram, and Nayandahalli stations.

Outlets Outside Stations
Bengaluru Railways isn’t just enhancing travel but also food choices. As per Moneycontrol, they’re in contact with popular local spots like Rameshwaram Café, A2B, MTR, and CTR, and even global favourites like KFC and McDonald’s to bring more food outlets to major stations. Haldiram Express already has a hit rail coach restaurant at KSR Bengaluru’s entrance, and guess what? They’re planning another one at the station’s third entry.
In another update, Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd (KSDL) will soon open a Mysore Sandal Soap outlet at KSR Bengaluru City station. Work is already complete, and the outlet will open within weeks. The railway division is also working with Indofast Energy, a joint venture of Indian Oil and Sun Mobility, to set up battery-swapping stations at KSR Bengaluru City, Yelahanka, and Banaswadi.
