Smart Marketing Strategy? A Bengaluru Saree Shop’s ChatGPT-Style Display Ad Is Taking Over The Internet

The Silicon Valley of India, Bengaluru, often makes headlines with its tech-savvy mindset and trends. And, once again, the city has grabbed the attention of online users. Recently, a post went viral on the internet, showing how a local saree shop in Bengaluru is smartly using a ChatGPT-style display board for advertisement.

Local Saree Shop In Bengaluru Uses ChatGPT Interface For Advertisement

Osborne Saldanha (@os7borne) took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to post how a local saree shop in Bengaluru is using a ChatGPT-style advertisement board. He posted the photo with a caption, “Local saree shop in Bangalore using ChatGPT mobile interface for an ad is a first. Earlier, it would be the Google search bar design. Just Bangalore things, I guess.”

In the post, you can see a ChatGPT-style mobile interface displaying a question, “Why is the Varamahalakshmi festival celebrated and when?” This is a smart strategy used by the local saree shop, especially with Varamahalakshmi just around the corner. Women in South India usually step out to shop for new sarees for Varamahalakshmi. This festival will be celebrated on August 8 this year. The post has quickly caught the attention of online users, and no doubt, they’re impressed with the shop’s smart marketing strategy.

Tech-Savvy Bengaluru

By using ChatGPT-style display boards, the local shop kept its marketing strategy trendy and eye-catching. One of the netizens in the post’s comments also mentioned the shop’s other offers, “This saree shop has a lot of cool features: BNPL, pay for 11 months & get an extra month’s money free to buy a saree, etc.”

This local shop’s marketing idea proves why Bengaluru is called a tech-savvy city. Before the ChatGPT prompt display, a post went viral where an auto driver was listening to a Naval Ravikant podcast. Ravikant is a well-known American entrepreneur and angel investor. The driver had fixed a small screen inside the auto, making it easy for him to watch the podcast. The post went viral with the caption, “It doesn’t get more peak Bengaluru than this.”
