AC Stops Working On Delhi-Pune SpiceJet Flight

SpiceJet flight SG-105 was scheduled to depart from Delhi at 9.45 PM on Tuesday. However, the flight was delayed to 10.30 PM. Passengers boarded the flight around 10.30 PM, only to find that the aircraft’s AC was not working properly.
As per The Indian Express, Leshpal Javalge, who was on the flight, said the cabin soon became very hot. The aircraft had already started moving towards the runway, and passengers hoped the AC would start working. However, it did not. As the heat increased, passengers started sweating heavily. Javalge said even the cabin crew struggled with the heat. Also, the blowers then started blowing hot air. Pregnant women, children and elderly passengers faced the most trouble.

Pregnant Woman Felt Unconscious
Things got worse when a pregnant woman reportedly felt unconscious and children started crying. Passengers then protested and asked the flight not to take off. According to The Indian Express, the aircraft stopped, and passengers were asked to get off. It took more than 20 minutes for medical help to reach the pregnant woman after passengers got off the flight.
A technical team checked the aircraft and said the issue would be fixed in 20 minutes. However, passengers waited on the airport apron until around 2 am. They were then told that the aircraft had a technical problem and the flight had been cancelled.
Passengers also said the airline did not provide food coupons or refreshments during the long wait. Javalge also claimed that the cabin crew was not very helpful when passengers raised their concerns. Later, an alternative aircraft was arranged for the passengers. The replacement flight left Delhi around 5 AM on Wednesday and reached Pune at about 7.30 AM. SpiceJet acknowledged the issue and apologised for the inconvenience.
